About the Artist
After living in cities her whole life, Lucy Fraser moved to beautiful upstate New York, which has become a constant source of inspiration. Everywhere she goes, each turn reveals a new and more fascinating scene than the last. The beauty of farm fields, orchards, streams, and forests surrounding her mountain home has found its way into her studio.
As a result, Lucy’s initial training in the art of stained glass has evolved into mixed-media sculptural expressions of the tranquility around her. Incorporating base metal wire, glass and crystal beads, and natural stone, she creates tree and flower sculptures that may resemble those found in nature, or take the form of abstract splashes of shapes and colors.
