THE AVENUE VIERA HOSTS 58TH ANNUAL SPACE COAST ART FESTIVAL
Fine art by National and Florida-based artists; plus, student art showcase and more
VIERA, Fla., Sept. 18, 2023—The Avenue Viera, will host the 58th annual Space Coast Art Festival on Sat., Oct. 14, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. through Sun., Oct. 15, from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. The local art festival features 50 fine artists displaying their work, a popular student art show, and vendors.
“The Space Coast Art Festival is one of the top fine art shows in the southeast welcoming local, national and student artists to showcase their art to the community,” said Steve Izzo, coordinator for the Space Coast Art Festival. “We’re delighted to host this year’s show at the beautiful and walkable Avenue Viera to encourage residents to shop, dine, support local artists, and celebrate the creativity of our local and national arts community.”
Artists are jury selected to exhibit at the festival in 10 unique art categories including leather, fiber, wood, clay, jewelry, watercolors and more. The festival features the largest student art show in the Space Coast—where over 250 public, private, charter and home-schooled students in Brevard submitted over 400 pre-made art pieces. Categories for the student art show include mixed media, painting, drawing, sculpture, 3-D, photography, and computer graphics. Students also compete in a t-shirt design contest with the winning design selected for volunteer t-shirts and the lead festival graphic.
“We are happy to once again host the 58th Space Coast Art Festival,” said Daisy Pickett, marketing manager of The Avenue Viera. “Whether you’re an artist, a student who loves to create, or a supporter of the fine arts community, this festival has something for all ages to enjoy.”
The Space Coast Art Festival collaborates with several community partners including The Avenue Viera, Brevard Zoo, The Viera Company and more. The Community Foundation for Brevard awarded a grant to Space Coast Art Festival this year in support of the student art show to provide young artists with the opportunity to learn how art directly impacts the community, both culturally and economically.
