About the Artist
As a Florida native, I spent most of my free time growing up drawing or being in the wild outdoors. I graduated HS in ’79, served 4 years in the US Army, then attended art school in Ft. Lauderdale ’87-’89. I ran a small graphic design shop for a few years, relocated to Central Florida in the early ’90s, met my wife Jodi, and raised a family, all the time working for various design and print shops. A computer artist for the Orlando Sentinel from ’97 til 2006. Started doing Faux Finishes and murals. Worked as a scenic artist in the theme parks off and on from “07-’16. In 2016, I started commercial painting with the occasional mural, as well as producing more canvas paintings.
We just recently became “empty nesters,” and now have more time to pursue my fine art. Most of my work is acrylic on canvas, primarily wildlife and landscape-focused. I also have quite a few watercolor pieces revolving around Florida wildlife and landscapes. In 2023, I painted the first large-scale (16’x74′) Historic mural for the City of Sanford, celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Sanford Fire Department. Now, I am starting to participate in art shows and selling originals and prints of my art.
