About the Artist

Bill Sansing began his art journey at Minor High School under the guidance of Rik Lazenby, who taught him techniques, color, and composition. During that time, he won an award for a mixed-media piece in a statewide high school competition.

With over 50 years in the automobile repair industry, Bill has created numerous custom paint jobs for both standard and race cars, with more than 35 vehicles featured in the World of Wheels, an annual event in Birmingham, Alabama. He later reconnected with Rik Lazenby at Artists on the Bluff in Hoover, Alabama, where he began taking night classes to further develop his craft.

Bill has competed in the Senior Artist class for the Church of God talent competitions, earning state awards in Gardendale, Alabama, and national awards in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, for faith-based artworks three years in a row.

He works with materials from the automobile industry, combining them with modern painting techniques to achieve a distinctive mixed-media style. His work often incorporates inks, acids, modeling clay, and recycled materials.

Bill lives in Pinson, Alabama, with his wife, Mary, the love of his life. They have two children, Wendy and John, two grandsons, Blake and Brit, and a new great-granddaughter, Bailey. The family also includes two beloved fur babies.
